I have done gigs for charity (ie: unpaid) because they give me an opportunity to practise and expand my work, give back to my community while they also give me an opportunity for exposure I may not otherwise get. Some of these gigs have worked out, others haven’t. I think the key as an emerging artist is to partner with the right people if you’re doing unpaid work. I know people who have had great success doing this. The key is knowing the folks you are partnering with will not only put in just as much effort as you do (or more) but will market the project in the right way to your intended audience. Consider free-bees as marketing costs. Just make sure your effort isn’t squandered.

I wish ours turned out better, I learned plenty myself like the people one works with are as important as the project one works on. But I want to say that you did a great job and want to thank you one more time for your hard work.
