The new year for me is a time to reflect on what I have accomplished in the last 12 months, and what I want to achieve in the next twelve. This year is quite different from the last, I didn’t even really have a web presence besides my Facebook page. 2009 for me was the year of web presence: a year of starting to create and maintain an online representation of myself, so I can share with the world all that I have to offer. I learned that the web and social media can be a powerful weapon if you learn to use it properly. 2010 will be the year that I discover what works for actors on the web: there are no guidebooks for this sort of thing, the we is the new frontier for all of us, no matter what business you are in. In the coming weeks, I will be creating a social media strategy….and you can guess where I’ll be testing it out 
OK. Enough talking.
My List of 10 Goals for 2010
1. Get my ACTRA – yes. me, the non-union queen, has finally decided its time to join the union.
2. Find an Agent who is excited about me and can open doors to the next steps of my career.
3. BE FEARLESS – approach every project that I work on with enthusiasm, pride, and a sense of “I don’t know whats going to happen next, but I’m going to dive right in and do it anyway”
4. Create a social media strategy that allows me to reach more people with my writing: this goal includes a few mini goals like “learn how to optimize my site for search engines” and “start video blogging once a week”.
5. Be responsible for my own creativity – I’m going to write a whole post about this goal, watch for it!
6. Target and learn three new special skills – It’s time to find some hobbies that will compliment my career and earn me some new “special skills” credits on my resume!
7. Find an acting class that I love and can commit to – after finally finding a studio to call home in Vancouver, I now have to find a Toronto “home” for my acting training.
8. Create relationships with important Casting Directors in Toronto – by being proactive, mailing out regularly, and being FEARLESS (see goal 3)
9. Find an easy and efficient way to record Auditions, Filming, etc. – I have some programs in mind, now it’s time to buy one!
10. Apply for University and finish my degree! Yup, its time for me to go back to school….mostly to provide myself an explanation as to why im still living at home
